Karina Schulte is originally from Chile, and her son is the Schulte\u2019s first grandchild. They moved to Seattle to witness the birth of their only grandchild and were to stay for 6 months time. Their daughter-in-law, Karina, and their ten day old&nbsp;grandson, who was in a sling on Karina\u2019s body,&nbsp;are in critical condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Police said that Mullan smelled of alcohol and failed&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.novaattorneys.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">field sobriety tests<\/a>. His BAC was .22%, which is almost four times the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.novaattorneys.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">legal limit of .08%<\/a>&nbsp;in Washington state. He stated that the sun was in his eyes and therefore couldn\u2019t see the Schultes as they crossed the road. Mullan remained cooperative though he was also driving on a suspended license at the time of the accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">He is being held at a local jail on $2.5 million bail while authorities investigate charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault. Prosecutors have until Thursday to bring those charges against Mullan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Drunk driving is a serious charge that can change your life forever.
