These laws were enacted and updated in 2004 before the coronavirus or COVID-19 existed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">However, a violation of a forced quarantine can have serious consequences under Virginia Law.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.novaattorneys.com\/attorney\/carlos-wall\">Carlos Wall, a northern Virginia criminal defense lawyer<\/a>, explains the potential punishments for violating a quarantine order issued by the Virginia State Health Commissioner if the coronavirus outbreak worsens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">If a person willfully violated a quarantine order they can be found guilty of a Class One Misdemeanor.
